Breeding policy
We look at the working ability, health, character and build of the dog. Every breeder has his or her own vision of breeding dogs. We do NOT breed with color varieties such as merle, blue, lilac and piebald. We strive for good, healthy working lines with a 'will to please'. We think a well-built and muscular dog is important, because of the heavy physical work these dogs perform. We train our puppies up to 1.5 years old with the sheep. They are only available for homes where their work drive and instincts come into their own.
We only breed with tested parents. Our dogs have all been tested for: DNA, X-ray and ECVO+Glaucoma.
Before they can start with the real thing, the puppies are first scanned for any problems/abnormalities of the skeleton. When you buy a dog, you will receive all the associated reports and examinations. If we find that certain dogs are not suitable for breeding, they will be sterilized before sale by means of a vasectomy (the ligation and/or cutting of the oviducts or vas deferens). This is to protect our and other people's lines.
